Sinatra and gang take a stroll through the kitchen towards the stage at Miami's Eden Roc resort.

If you're a Rat Pack fan then this is a gift from above. I'm a sucker for candid photos and whenever I see a new picture of Sinatra and the gang that I've never seen, it feels like Christmas morning.

On the 50th anniversary of the original Rat Pack flick "Ocean's 11," has put together a stupendous gallery of never-before-seen pics of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford.

LIFE's photographers trailed the various members of the Pack through the early sixties. And of those thousands of shots taken, many have never been published — until now.

  1. These pics are cool. Candid photos are the best. I agree.

  2. These are classic and classy,a time gone by. Love the one of Frank in the schvitz all lathered up. Boss man, totally boos.

  3. Just awesome photos, Ant.
The more I see old bw pix the more I realize how much better they were than today's colour schlock. There was a real creamy beauty about them.
    Going to see the site.

  4. Just went and saw the photos. Amazing.
No one does it like LIFE.

  5. Wow, what a gift. Thanks. Some great shots here. I agree with Cathy -- nothing shows a face better than b&w. Classy stuff. Peace...

  6. What a find, Ant. I like the one with Sinatra shaving, and the Lights, Camera, Fedora.

I love that era, esp with the black and white photos. I was watching an old 50's movie today, and I was thinking how they were so much more focused on the 'story' back then because they didn't have special effects and coloring to detract from it like they do today.

    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Thanks for the linkage to the pics, Ant. The ones on Sammy were brilliant. He seemed to have such great joy all the time.

  8. This is great.. There is something mysterious and palpable about b&w pictures..and old blue eyes, well...

    great post my friend..

  9. Absolutely classic photos, not to mention all the great quotes that accompany them. I love the "Up all night" pic - the way the smoke fills the room so much it looks like a myriad of ghosts are watching over.

Thanks so much for sharing this Ant, and for revealing one of your "secret" sources. ;)
