TIMES HAVE CHANGED...

... All I can possibly wonder is: What was Madison Avenue thinking?

  1. I dunno, as politically incorrect as they may be, there's something adorable about those old ads. Adorable and sexy!

  2. If someone blew smoke in my face, he'd better watch out for my left hook.

It's really funny how much things have changed in a few short years.

  3. They're great aren't they? You just wouldn't get away with them now, in this "do-gooders" world that we live in. I'll bet the "bra-burners" just loved that coffee advert. HA!

  4. I don't think do-gooders have anything to do with it. I think it has to do with women as ad execs now. Watch for the woman with the man stretched across her lap waiting to be spanked for not bringing her the right brand of scotch! Oh no, they can't print alcohol or ciggy ads anymore. I also noticed the new laundry commercials where it's not always women doing the housework.

  5. Mad Men. Nothiing sez sexy like a snootful of second hand cig smoke. And I often think of spanking when I fix that morning java...

  6. They really make women look like the victims back then, but I know from my own nature :), family rumors, and basic educated guessing, that women also got away with A LOT. You know, maybe there was a good reason for that spanking.

  7. It's laughable because even back then it had to do with sex. Certainly now ads are done differently (more pc, maybe, but certainly sleezier). That all it's about though.
